When a new elevator, escalator, wheelchair lift, or moving walk is installed, it can only be used once it has passed a rigorous safety inspection (acceptance test). Mx2 Elevator Inspections is authorized to perform the inspections required at the completion of the initial installation
The owner of the elevator, escalator, wheelchair lift or moving walk must obtain an inspection every 12 months. Once Mx2 finishes with inspecting, you submit the inspection report provided by us, all required documents, and applicable fees to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) in order to obtain a Certificate of Compliance.
Five-year safety tests and the required inspections should be performed on all electric (traction) elevators. Roped hydraulic elevators that have overspeed governors and car safeties fall into this category.
It’s important to keep your vertical transportation systems updated with the latest codes and technology. Once your contractor is completed with your modernization services, your equipment must be inspected prior to it being turned back over to the building owner. Mx2 Elevator Inspections can perform the necessary inspections to ensure your changes are up to code.
We will work closely with your contractor to schedule all new installation inspections. Please contact us to obtain a quote for services. We look forward to working with you!
